Valentines Poem

I wrote this poem to give to Annie for valentines day. Unfortunately I don't think she really liked it...oh well, it was fun writing at least.

Oh wherefore does this feeling come;
This spreading warmth, this young passion?
In you I see desire's fulcrum,
That tips the heart; makes me brazen.

Your smile, your laugh, your arm's embrace,
Boldly brightens the dullest day.
Your eyes, your mouth, your hair, your face;
They tease and tempt my dream's display.

Your beauty leads my mouth to treason,
You leave me mute, you send me reeling.
You're the cause, but what the reason?
What the name of my heart's feeling?

Then insight dawns, and I succumb;
Its love I feel- fierce and blithesome
